Tommy McElrath (CV)

Tommy is a PhD candidate in the Department of Entomology at the University of Georgia studying under Joe McHugh. His research focuses on systematics of beetles in the superfamilies Cucujoidea and Coccinelloidea, but he is broadly interested in the evolution of beetles and other insects. He is currently unraveling the problematic genus Bactridium and using morphological methods to examine the phylogenetics of the family Monotomidae.

Olivia Boyd (CV)

Olivia is a Ph.D. student in Dr. David Maddison’s lab at Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR. She is using phylogenomic tools to study the systematics of the carabid subtribe Tachyina. Though many of the groups within Tachyina are well-defined, the relationships among them are unclear. In the context of a molecular phylogeny of Tachyina, Olivia is interested in investigating the morphological convergence responsible for the group's complex taxonomic history, especially the Tachyura complex.

Joseph V. McHugh (Lab Website)

Joe is a professor at the University of Georgia and a Curator in the Georgia Museum of Natural History. His research focuses on systematics, evolution and anatomy of insects, especially beetles in the superfamilies Cucujoidea and Coccinelloidea.
